What To Expect

Following pickup at the cruise port in Falmouth, board a comfortable tour vehicle for the 30-minute ride to Lethe Estates, a private community along the Great River.

Upon arrival, meet your expert adventure guides and listen to a short safety briefing and orientation to the course. These gravity-fed ziplines meet the strict safety standards established by the Association for Challenge Course Technology, and use double steel cables and double steel pulley systems.

Climb aboard a troop transport vehicle and head off on a bumpy ride through the jungle. Pass banana trees and coconut palms on your way to the top of the course, where you'll get fitted for a helmet and harness. Climb the platform for your first zipline, just 250 feet (76 meters) long and low to the ground.

As you continue to gain confidence and experience, the ziplines will get longer and higher. After crossing a 250-foot (76-meter) jungle bridge, you'll eventually get to Big Timba, the longest zipline in the Caribbean at 1,600 feet (488 meters).

After your zipline tour is over, visit the Estates' botanical gardens to taste sugar cane, coconut and pineapple, all grown on site. Stroll through the gardens or have a seat at The Green, the estate's snack bar, until the tour vehicle takes you back to the cruise port.

We booked the Jamaican Zipline...

Denise L W,

Jul 2017

We booked the Jamaican Zipline Adventure as a shore excursion for our stop at Falmouth, Jamaica. The Ziplining part was good and we enjoyed it. I do need to comment that there were a few things different from the description that travelers should be aware of for planning purposes. There were nine of us that were signed up - our family of four and another family of five. After checking in at the designated meeting place, we waited a while before boarding a small 10 passenger van. The A/C did not work well and the drive was an hour on winding and bumpy roads be prepared if anyone gets car sick. It was not a tour, our driver didn't give us any information during the drive there or back. Thankfully we purchased water on the way to the meeting spot as none was provided or available. Once at the Zipline location we met Bones and Jane who set us up with gear and instructions. There are wooden cabinets that you can lock your things in while ziplining, but I would limit what you bring along. Halfway through the ziplines five total we sampled fresh coconut water and a little pineapple, but that was the only food or drink available. Mind you it was hot and there is some hiking involved. When we were finished we asked about water to purchase for the drive back, but there was none available. We asked our driver if he could please stop somewhere for water and he stopped at a roadside stand that didn't have enough water for all of us so we bought what he had and shared. We were returned to the port with plenty of time before the ships departure. Two more notes, take cash with you as tips for all guides and drivers is highly encouraged and wear insect repellent and long shorts or pants. My kids teens were covered with itchy bites all over their legs and ankles the next day. Bottom line, the ziplines with our guides Bones and Jane were fun, the rest of the trip was not quite what we expected.

Not the zipline place I had booked...

Not the zipline place I had booked! Thought we booked Zipline Jamaica and ended up at Chukka Tours!! When I questioned staff was told they were closed down and Chukka took over!! We are so disappointed that Viator did not inform us of this change . Even thought the staff was very nice we felt like the 5 of us were an extra 5 people the tour guides were not expecting. We use Viator for most tours every where we go but will rethink using you next time!

The Jamaican Zipline was amazing. I was...

The Jamaican Zipline was amazing. I was a little concerned at first but the guides Blemish and Jerry and the driver Belly were a lot of fun. They made sure we were safe on each zip. They were very friendly and outgoing. Lots of jokes. The travel to the zipline area was past Montego Bay which was a long ride from Falmouth but the guide Greg from Juta Tours was very knowledgeable and shared historical information about Jamaica. I will definitely recommend this trip for those seeking something adventurous and for those in good health. Not for the faint at heart.
